Reinickendorf district
Reinickendorf is a large district to the north-west of Berlin with a variety of features, from imposing tower blocks and insdustrial estates to small, quaint villages and beautiful forests and lakes.
It is also home to Tegel Airport, Berlins largest. The local Tegel village is popular with ramblers. The imposing and elegant Tegel Castle ("Humboldt-Schlsschen") was built for the statesman Wilhelm von Humboldt, whose family still lives there.
The S1 and S25 overground trains and the U6 and U8 underground lines run to the city centre. A bus route links the airport with the U6 on Kurt-Schumacher-Platz as well as with the S41/42 ring train and the U7 and U9 underground lines.
