Tempelhof area
Tempelhof is best known for its small airport as well as for being one of the more tranquil areas of the city, despite its location only a few minutes from the busy Kreuzberg and Schneberg districts.
The neighbourhood is well connected to the centre but it is also reasonably isolated and quiet, making it ideal for families wanting a bit of peace and quiet while also having the option of night life and shopping close at hand.
Tempelhof is also well connected to the southern suburbs and to the Brandenburg countryside for those wishing to escape into nature for the day. The local Mariendorf horse track is popular with racing fanatics.
The U6 underground goes to Tempelhof, while the S2 overground connects the Tempelhofer/Mariendorfer Damm to the city centre.
