As of 14 April, the Barcelona Metro and the urban train lines of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat are to operate all night on Saturday nights and on the eve of public holidays for a six-month trial period. Trains on both the Metro and the Ferrocarrils will run every 15 minutes, apart from Line 8 of the Ferrocarrils which will run every 20 minutes. The new project aims at increasing mobility in the city as well as reducing Saturday night car accidents.
