Jersey inhabitants are worried about job security and will cut back dramatically on spending, according to a new survey conducted by Guernsey-based business, Island Analysis. The survey has found that the vast majority of those questioned think that the economic situation is going to worsen significantly in the months ahead, and that people are gloomy about the medium to longer-term prospects.

A representative sample of 1,500 Channel Islanders answered questions face-to-face and online in the three months to the end of October. The results show that 42 per cent of Jersey residents indicated that they were concerned
