Copenhagen has been voted top European port-of-call by around 200,000 travel agents, beating Stockholm, Barcelona and Genoa to win the World Travel Award for the third consecutive year.

This year 400,000 cruise ship guests visited Copenhagen during the cruise season, ten per cent up on 2005. Cruise-related hoyel stays also climbed to a total of 215,000 over the same period. The income generated by cruise tourism is estimated at Dkk700 million for the Danish capital alone.
