The Christmas season in Dublin kicks off on Sunday 16 November with the lighting of the Docklands Christmas tree at the chq building at 17.30. A gospel choir will also be singing at the futuristic shopping centre for the occasion. The Christmas market at Docklands this year runs from 12-23 December.

However the biggest happening of Docklands Christmas season is the inauguration of the O2 concert complex at the old Point Theatre on 16 December. The opening concert, which is sponsored by Cheerio
