Eataly to open in London

First London branch for high-end Italian food chain Eataly.

London is set to have its first branch of Eataly, the high-end Italian food mall chain, as part of the ongoing Square Mile redevelopment of the City.
The emporium of fine foods, which offers thousands of quality Italian products such as pasta, coffee, wine, biscuits, bread and olive oil, is expected to open in 2018 on a 3,700-sqm site in Bishopsgate near Liverpool Street station.
In addition to its cafes, shops and restaurants Eataly hosts free food “universities” offering lessons in preparing classic Italian dishes.
London's Square Mile development will see the City transformed from an office-heavy district into a "24-hour cultural hub" with trendy shops, hotels and restaurants.
Founded in 2004 by Turin entrepreneur Oscar Farinetti, Eataly now has 35 megastores around the world including in Tokyo, São Paulo, New York and, most recently, Los Angeles.
