Jersey will be able to quiz French authorities in June on the plans and the safety arrangements for the new nuclear power station Flamanville 3 planned on the Normandy coast, almost exactly opposite the island of Guernsey. Details of the meeting will be available in May.

Flamanville 3 will be built with the latest generation of EPR (European pressurized reactor) to a French and German design. There are already two other nuclear plants on the site, which supply about three per cent of France
