Al-Muslima, a monthly Islamic newspaper in German, has been launched in Vienna with an initial print run of 20,000. Editor-in-chief Dr Amir Zaidan, who also directs Viennas Islamic Religious Teaching Institute, aims to make the monthly newspaper a bridge between cultures, with particular emphasis on educating Austrians about the true nature of Islam. Covering political, educational and Islamic topics, the paper will provide an important media platform for Austrias Islamic community of around 400,000.
