Privately-owned Indian airline Jet Airways has signed a memorandum of understanding with Brussels Airlines to operate ten new long-haul flights to the United States, Canada and India via Brussels airport at Zaventem in cooperation with the Belgian flag-carrier. The agreement could mean up to 3,200 extra passengers a day, or 1 million passengers a year, through the Belgian airport, while Brussels Airlines will increase its long-haul flight portfolio to a total of 55 routes. Jet Airways was founded in Mumbai in 1992 and currently serves 44 destinations worldwide, making European stopovers at London Heathrow and Brussels.
