24-31 October is Iranian Film Week in the Austrian capital. The programme at the Theater House in Vienna includes Kamal Tabrizis A Piece of Bread, Pouran Derakhshandehs A Candle in the Wind, Shahriyar Bohrani's Holy Mary and Dariush Mehrjouis Moms Guest. The Film Week celebrates the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr feast day. Vienna has an Iranian expatriate population of around 30,000 and all films will be screened with Persian subtitles. From November there will be regular screenings of Iranian films on holidays and weekends over the following six months.
