Jersey should prepare a local food audit to see to what extent it could produce its own food in the event of any emergency, political or environmental, according to the director of the Soil Association, Patrick Holden.

An audit of possible produce would include vegetables, fruit, protected produce, and locally raised meat.

In the light of likely future environmental, political and economic instability, Holden questioned the advisability of exporting so much of the island
