Jersey may have a new bus company servicing the island in 2013. The present contract with Connex, which has been providing the service for the last decade, runs out at the end of this year.

The favourite among the seven invited to tender is a UK-based company, CT Plus. It operates in London, Yorkshire and Bristol. It runs ten red bus routes for Transport for London, as well as other community transport services. In Bristol it runs two Park and Ride routes from car parks into the city centre. CT Plus is part of the HCT Group and became a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2007, a type of company designed specifically for social services. It is also a registered charity.

The contract is to provide school and public bus services throughout the island. It is said to be worth
