The success of the Oxford Street Warden scheme has led to the extension of the wardens patrol zone to include the Marston and Northway neighbourhoods. The team, comprising a senior warden and four street wardens, will work with the local community to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, as well as providing a point of contact for the whole community. The wardens will also be able to issue fines under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environments Act. Currently street wardens are operating in the Blackbird Leys, Rose Hill, Littlemore, Wood Farm, Barton and Sandhills areas.
