The mayor of Brussels, Freddy Thielemans, has inaugurated the new-look capital website, www.bruxelles.be, replacing the original site set up in 2002. Designed entirely by city council IT staff and councillors, the new site offers a more functional structure for ease of access, clarity and simplicity of language (in French and Dutch) as well as direct email links to various council departments. A webcam installed high on a building overlooking the Grand Place gives a live panorama of the city centre 24 hours a day. Information in English for tourists is available on the linked site www.brusselsinternational.be .
