Monday 26 March saw the start of the new bmi air service between Jersey and Heathrow. It is the first time since 2000, when British Airways stopped its Heathrow-Jersey route, that the island has been connected to the main London hub.

The twice daily flights are designed to catch the peak hours for business travellers, giving them a day either in Jersey or in London. The two flights out of Heathrow are scheduled at 7.10 and 18.40 and the Jersey-Heathrow flights at 08.45 and 20.35. The cost of a ticket starts at about
