Amsterdam has a new Michelin star restaurant. In the Michelin Netherlands 2011 guide the Restaurant Vermeer on Prins Hendrikkade was awarded its first star.

Amsterdam now has six one-star restaurants and one two-star, but no three star restaurants. The first restaurant to be awarded three Michelin stars in the Netherlands was Parkheuvel in Rotterdam in 2002.
