The Oxford Nightsafe partnership, which was set up in 2004 to combat binge drinking and alcohol-related crime and disorder, has launched a new website at www.nightsafe-oxford.org.uk. The service provides maps, public transport details, descriptions of city centre pubs and bars, hotel accommodation and tips on how to have a safe night out in Oxford, as well as crime statistics and a special section for pub licensees. Members of the citys Pub Watch forum will also be able to access photos of people who are banned from licensed premises on a password-protected area of the site. The Nightsafe partnership includes Oxford City Council, Thames Valley Police, Oxfordshire County Council, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, OX1 and Oxford City Primary Health Care.
