Oxford is proposing to put strict limits on the number of houses with shared occupancy, such as those used by students, reports the Oxford Mail. Under the new rules there could be a maximum of 20 per cent of houses in multiple

occupation (HMO) in any 100 metres of residential street. According to the Mail there are around 5,000 Oxford HMO households, with the highest concentrations in Headington and East Oxford.
