The Department of Transport has raised standard parking fines across Ireland from 19 to 40. It has also increased fines for parking illegally in a disabled space from 19 to 80 and for parking in a clearway from 25 to 40. Penalties for non-payment include a 50 per cent increase in fines not paid within 28 days of the offence. A district court summons will be issued automatically if the fine is not paid within 56 days. In Dublin, cars parked illegally may also be clamped instead of being given parking tickets. The cost of removing a clamp is 80.
