Following the success of the petition Parents Against Dog Droppings, signed by more than 157,000 Viennese citizens earlier this year, the city council has launched a poster campaign aimed at convincing dog owners to clean up after their pets. The posters show a cute little terrier reminding his owner to take a baggy for my poop and the city councillor in charge of environmental issues, Ulli Sima, has promised that the initiative will be extended to other media as well. Vienna has a canine population of 158,000 and the council currently spends about 7 million annually in cleaning up the mess.
