London mayor Boris Johnson has announced a review of the controversial western extension to the congestion charging zone, with a five-week public consultation to be held from early September. Special attention will be given to the opinion of local residents, businesses and retailers within the boundaries of the 2007 extension, which covers most of the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster. A Transport for London (TfL) consultation prior to the introduction of the new western C-zone showed that 62 per cent of residents were opposed to it.

Information on the consultation will be posted on the Transport for London website.
