Road deaths down in Netherlands

Road deaths and traffic jams are down in the Netherlands according to figures from the ministry of transport. In 2011 deaths fell from 81 to 67 in 2011. The Netherlands has a population of 16.6 million and is the 61st most populated country in the world.

Traffic jams are the lowest since 2000 and in the first four months of this year they were down 5.6 per cent over the same period last year. According to the ministry of transport this is thanks to road improvements throughout the country.
