Work on the long-delayed Town Park project could start early next year. It was originally proposed in the 1990s, and was meant to be a Millennium project. Now the idea to reinvigorate a not especially attractive part of St Helier might finally come to pass. It is part of plans for the biggest redevelopment of the north of St Helier for many decades.

This major scheme, called the North of Town Master Plan, is designed to create 300 homes, reduce traffic and create the long-awaited Millennium Town Park on the site of the Gas Place car parks.
