A daily airline service between Jersey and Luton will be provided by Thomsonfly from 2 May. It is increasing the number of seats on its Jersey flights by over 50 per cent this summer.

It estimates that it has brought 230,000 visitors to Jersey since it began flying between Jersey and Coventry in 2003, and it expects to bring an extra 90,000 visitors this year on its Luton and Cardiff routes.

Thomsonfly will continue to fly to Doncaster as well - a route which carried 50,000 people last year.

Commercial director Guy Stevenson said that Jersey had become a key destination for his company, and people now felt that Jersey was an ideal destination for a short holiday break. He expects the growth in its routes to continue.
