One of Copenhagens most popular tourist attractions, the historic Nyhavn canal, with its picturesque old houses and wooden ships and houseboats lining the docks, is about to lose some of its authentic ambience. The growing number of tour boats and the 24-hour-a-day bars, clubs and restaurants along the waterfront are finally proving too much for local houseboat owners, many of whom have already weighed anchor and found berths in more tranquil waters. Nyhavns reputation as being the longest bar in Scandinavia may not change, but the atmosphere wont be the same.
