Get into the festive spirit in Vienna at one of the many seasonal markets open across the city in the run-up to Christmas. The Magic of Advent market is back at City Hall again this year with stalls both inside and outside the building, while a new Christmas market with around 50 booths has been set up on the magnificent Maria-Theresien-Platz offering brass bands and gospel choirs as well as original gifts and handcrafts. An Ice Palace has been installed in the MuseumsQuartier for the Winter in MQ events, which include curling, MQ mountain climbing and daily performances from DJs and VJs. The main courtyard in front of the Schnbrunn Palace hosts an annual Christmas market specializing in traditional handcrafts, hand-made jewellery and rustic Christmas decorations. Silver, enamel and brass jewellery is on offer at the Spittelberg Christmas market in the revitalized Biedermeier quarter, along with hot punch and traditional seasonal delicacies. The markets are open until 24 December.
