Internationally renowned conductor, Ion Marin, directs the Madrid Symphony Orchestra in El sueo de una noche de verano A Midsummer Nights Dream - at the Teatro Real. This opera in 3 acts by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears is based on Shakespeares famous play of the same name, and this new production at the Teatro Real features the Vicenza Boys Choir. Oberon, King of the Fairies, is played by Carlos Mena and Heidi Grant Murphy is his Queen, Titania. The part of Puck, the mischievous elf whose liberal use of magical herbs is the cause of so much misdirected passion, is played by Rafael Delgado. Designed by Pier Luigi Pizzi and lit by Italian lighting maestro, Sergio Rossi. Admission 136-15 Performances start at 20.00 on 11, 13, 17, 19, 20, 24 & 26 Jan; at 18.00 15 & 22 Jan.
