30 March-11 June 2006. La Casa Encendida hosts an exhibition entitled De Ida y Vuelta. Africa showing painting, film, video, sculpture and photography by 20 African artists spanning five generations, all of whom have been influential on the international art scene. The exhibition includes work by Frdric Bruly Bouabr (Ivory Coast,1921), Frances Goodman and William Kentridge (South Africa) and Emeka Udemba and Otobong Nkanga (Nigeria). Differences between artists who emigrated and those who remained in their home countries are also examined. Admission free. Mon-Sun 10.00-22.00.
