Akkordeon Festival 2014

The 15th edition of the popular Accordian Festival takes place at various venues across Vienna.

This year the focus is on traditional performances and experimental sounds from Austria's neighbouring countries, although there are also musicians from the US.

Harmonia Garden from Hungary play at the Ost Klub on 5 March while Slovenia's Jure Tori Trio featuring Ajda Sticker play at Ehrbar-Saal on 7 March.

Americans Ben Holmes and Patrick Farrell perform together with Vienna band Playbackdoll on 13 March, and veterans Wiener Tschuschenkapelle perform music from the Balkans, Russia and the Orient, as well as forays into jazz and classical music, at the Metropol on 15 March.

The festival closes with a gala dedicated to the Austrian duo Attwenger at Reigen on 22 March, followed with grand finale by the Ziehharmonisches Orchester Wien at the Metropol on 23 March.
