America is Also Our History

15 October - 9 May 2011. Exploring the shared history and close ties between Europe and America, this exhibition examines an interweaving of culture and trade over 300 years.

Using a mixture of art, artefacts, audiovisual material and documents, the exhibition poses questions about the future relationship between the two continents in terms of a 21st-century "Atlanticism" - the philosphy of co-operation shared by North America and Western Europe.

The show takes place in the historic setting of the old harbour station at Tour & Taxis.
