18-22 Oct 2006. Opening with a tribute to synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog, the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is Europe's most important forum and festival for dance and electronic music. By day conferences and panel discussions for industry professionals cover topics from 'Games, Advertising & Electronic Music, Not For Kids to The Artist Debate and The Digital Divide, while at night over 40 venues across the city host around 475 Djs and live musicians in the world's biggest club festival. Parallel events include DJ contests, 'The Kate Show' at the FOAM gallery with an exhibition dedicated to British model Kate Moss, and the Rocket Cinema Film Festival with Djs and musicians invited to create new soundtracks for classic and cult films including 'Black Orpheus', 'Playtime' with Jacques Tati, 'Tampopo' and Roger Corman's 'The Trip'. Club events include 'Dave Clarke presents' with UK DJ at the Melkweg (19 Oct), 'Los Hermanos Ingleses' at Jimmy Woo (20 Oct), while a five-hour set by Tisto, the world's leading trance DJ, is the feature of Magik Muzik Night at the Paradiso (21 Oct). The ADE conference runs 19-21 Oct, while pre- and post-parties and events run 18-22 Oct. Admission 42.50-7.
