19-26 April 2006. This is the 22nd edition of Amsterdams festival of science fiction, horror, cult, thriller and fantasy films. The theme this year is Marx Attacks, with rarely-seen science fiction films from behind the Iron Curtain. The Lifetime Achievement Award for 2006 goes to director/producer Roger Corman, who will be guest of honour at the festival. Events include the Fantastic Childrens Festival, the Night of Terror, a master-class for aspiring filmmakers and a symposium on European fantastic film production. The Silver Scream Award will be presented to the film most popular with audiences. Screenings are to be held mainly at the Film-museum Cinerama and at the Melkweg Cinema.
