Exhibition highlighting the work of a group of early 20th-century German artists whose lives and careers were interrupted by one, in some cases two, world wars.
The show comprises works by acclaimed artists such as Otto Dix, Emil Nolde, Marcel Breuer, Lovis Corinth, Lyonel Feininger, George Grosz and Otto Mueller.
Exhibition organisers point out that the Aurel Scheibler gallery space was the former home of the Nierendorf Brothers' Gallery from 1933-1938, and say it is "not unthinkable" that some of the works from the current show were displayed on the same walls almost one century ago.
The building was created originally in 1911 for the Berlin Association of Female Artists (Verein der Berliner Künstlerinnen).
