7 - 10 May 2009. Under the title " A Complexion Change - International & Intercultural Diplomacy" the annual Black International Film Festival will feature approximately 60 films from Africa and countries populated by the African diaspora in Europe and South America. Film discussions, performances and seminars will also be held. Founded in 1986, the festival has developed into one of the most well regarded film events in Europe and celebrates the enormous cinematic contribution made by black actors and directors worldwide. A platform for African cultural, artistic and political issues, the event is committed to fighting persecution and discrimination, using theatre to forge stronger multicultural links within society.
