Brilliant Times: European Art Nouveau Jewellery
25 February - 20 June. The Leopold Museum presents a comprehensive exhibition of Art Nouveau jewellery, predominantly from the Hessian State Museum in Darmstadt.
The museum's collection is based around that of the Dutch court jeweller Karel A. Citroen who began collecting in 1952. At that time it was not considered fashionable to collect Art Nouveau jewellery, however by 1959 the Amsterdam-based jeweller had amassed several hundred pieces from all over Europe.
