15 September – 9 December. The Royal Academy of Arts presents an ambitious exhibition that celebrates the historical, geographical and stylistic range of bronze.
The works on show span 5,000 years, including artefacts from Etruscan, Ancient Greek and Roman times to mediaeval and Renaissance masterpieces cast in the enduring medium.
The exhibition features over 150 bronzes from Europe, Africa and Asia – including significant recent archaeological excavations – as well as more modern bronzes by artists such as Rodin, Picasso, Jasper Johns and Henry Moore.
