This new production by Marina Carr, one of Ireland's leading playwrights, has received critical acclaim since it opened at the Abbey Theatre in mid August.
Described as a "thrilling re-imagining" of the Greek tragedy Medea, this powerful play centres around Hester Swane, who is haunted by her past and tormented by years of isolation.
Selina Cartmell directs this classic tale which is full of a "terrifying rage" according to a review in The Irish Times.
Born in the Irish midlands in 1946, Carr's work is influenced by classical Greek myths and dramas, and many of her plays feature strong female lead characters.
Her interpretation of Hecuba is due to debut at the Royal Shakespeare company at Stratford on Avon on 17 September.
