4 Feb-9 April 2006. Wilkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome! After a successful six-year run on Broadway, the musical Cabaret comes to the Koninklijk Theater Carr, which has been converted into a seedy Berlin nightclub for the occasion. Set in Berlin in the 1930s, in the run-up to the Third Reich, Cabaret revolves around the life and loves of singer Sally Bowles (played by Pia Douwes) and the nights at the Kit Kat Klub. There the smooth-talking Master of Ceremonies and the rest of the nightclub orchestra provide a decadent and witty antidote to the depressing events in the streets outside. Directed by BT McNicholl, this production uses the script and design of Sam Mendes successful version of the original 1966 musical, with music and lyrics by Kander and Ebbs. Cabaret also stars Ara Halici, Anne-Wil Blankers and Chris Tates. Admission 65-29. Daily at 20.00, matinees Sat and Sun 14.30.
