13 January - 26 February. The Royal Hibernian Academy dedicates a retrospective to celebrated Irish artist Carey Clarke.
Following graduation at Dublin's National College of Art & Design, Clarke's studies took him to Salzburg and then Florence where he studied tempera painting under master painter Pietro Annigoni.
Clarke has led a distinguished academic career, with a lifelong association with NCAD where he taught drawing and painting before being promoted to senior lecturer; and the RHA, to which was elected Member in 1981, and later President in 1992.
In 1993 he was elected Honorary Member to both the Royal Academy in London and the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh.
A superb draughtsman, highly proficient in watercolours and oils, Clarke is now retired from teaching and paints full time.
