20 July - 26 September 2010. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Charles Van der Stappen (1843-1910) the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium present a comprehensive exhibition of the sculptor's work. Influenced by antiquity as well as realism and art nouveau, Van der Stappen's style could readily be described as eclectic. As director of the Brussels Academy of Art, he in turn influenced future generations of artists, while always providing an open door to the artistic community in Brussels. This exhibition includes a selection of his drawings, projects and archive documents.
Tues-Sun: 10.00-17.00
