15 Mar-13 July 2008. This exhibition, which examines the recent explosion of design in China, displaying the works of Chinese and international designers, focuses on architecture, fashion, graphics as well as film, photography and furniture design. Visitors are taken on an imaginary journey to three rapidly expanding Chinese cities. The voyage starts in Shenzhen, the far south, where in the early 1990s graphic designers began to explore new ideas. Then it moves to Shanghai, where the combination of consumerism and urban culture produced new fashion design. Finally the exhibition stops in Beijing, which has been recently transformed by the monumental architecture for the Olympic Games of 2008.
