Chinese Landscape from the Ashmolean Collection
The Ashmolean Museum presents an exhibition of traditional Chinese landscape paintings from its own collection, including some important 17th-century pieces that have rarely been seen by the public.
The exhibition features delicately-painted watercolours, calligraphy and ink paintings, and provides an insight into a traditional and distinguished Chinese art form.
The display is designed to compliment the museum's parallel "Landscape Landscript" exhibition devoted to the landscapes of prominent contemporary Chinese artist Xu Bing.
