21 May-25 June 2006. Set up in 1986, the Sunday morning classical concerts in the historic surrounds of Oxfords Holywell Music Room have become one of the most successful chamber music series in Britain. Coffee is served at the Kings Arms and the Next Door from 10.30 as well as after the concert, and is included in the ticket price. This months concerts include Simon Crawford-Philips (piano) and Lawrence Power (viola) playing Brahms sonatas in E flat and F minor on 21 May and Frances Angell (piano) and Yan Schmolck (violin) playing violin sonatas by Beethoven, Schumann and Debussy on 28 May. David Adams (violin), Louise Williams (viola) and Alice Neary (cello) present Mozarts Divertimento on 25 June. In a temporary change of venue, the all-female Pavao String Quartet plays Mozarts Dissonance and Dvoraks American and Daniel Debora presents a solo piano concert playing Schumann, Haydn, Beethoven and Bach at the Magdalen College Auditorium on 4 and 11 June respectively. Admission 9, concessions 8, under-10s free if accompanied by an adult. Concerts start at 11.15.
