Cosi fan tutte, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
12 Sept - 15 Oct 2005. The new opera season at the Palais Garnier kicks off with Cosi Fan Tutte, a comic opera in two acts by the Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with the libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte. This new production presented in Italian is directed by Patrice Chreau, the famous French film-maker, who makes a noticeable return to opera. Come and enjoy this classic and light-hearted production commissioned by the emperor Joseph II and inspired by an allegedly true story: two brothers convinced of their fiances love make a bet with a friend who puts the faithfulness of the two young women to the test.
Tickets cost 7-160. Concerts begin at 14.30 and 19.30.
