The Museo Reina Sofía dedicates the largest retrospective to date of Spanish sculptor and installation artist Cristina Iglesias. Comprising over 50 pieces, the exhibition spans the Madrid-based artist's earliest work up to her most recent creations.
Throughout the last three decades Iglesias has sought out ways to take sculpture into the realm of installation, exploring sculpture's relationship with space and architecture. During her career she has employed an eclectic range of materials such as alabaster, aluminium, bronze, tapestry, glass, resin, iron, wood, concrete and even water.
Iglesias gained international recognition following her solo exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 1997.
