12 Nov 2008-9 Feb 2009. This exhibition is dedicated to Damian Ortega, considered one of the most prominent artists of the new Mexican generation along with Abraham Cruz-Villegas and Gabriel Kuri. Ortega began his career as a political cartoonist and in 2003 at the 50th Venice Biennale caught the international attention with his Cosmic Thing, an ironic deconstruction of a Volkswagen, cult object of Mexico's consumer society, dismantled and suspended from the ceiling. His sculptures, installations, videos and actions often draw on "poor" materials and evoke potential evolution and continual change.
