Daniel Richter: Lonely Old Slogans

8 Sept-8 Jan. The Louisiana offers a "mid-career retrospective" to Daniel Richter who is regarded as a leading member of the 1960's generation of artists.

Born in 1962, the German artist came to prominence in the 1990s with his expressive abstract work which contained echoes of his early artistic association with Germany's punk rock bands in the 1980s.

Since then however Richter has embraced an exclusively figurative approach, drawing on historical and political events, and inspired by German Expressionist painters such as Max Beckmann and George Grosz.

The Louisiana shows Richter’s development from his earliest works to his output today.
