25-29 April 2006. The successful 2002 production DAvant returns to Thtre de la Ville for five performances with a polyglot quartet composed of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet from the famous Ballets C. de la B. and Luc Dunberry and Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola, singers from Sasha Waltz. Describing themselves as a medieval boys band, their performance features everything from 13th-century troubadour songs to Gregorian chants combined with hybrid modern dance styles. This acrobatic and multi-talented troupe transforms improvised football games, religious processions and military marches into a mosaic tableaux of our times.
