Written by Priscilla Be and Gnther Grosser, Dead Fred is a road play following a day in the lives of nine people travelling on the infamous Transitstrecke transit corridor between East and West Berlin. Set in the German capital in the 1980s, Dead Fred is the English Theatre Berlins fourth play about the divided city. The work brings together a punk band, two East German cops, a woman at a rest stop, a potential escapee to the West and Fred, who works on the transit road. Directed by Grosser, the cast includes Anna Fin, Be and Kenneth Spiteri. In connection with Dead Fred, the English Theatre also offers a workshop for student groups.
